4th Peace & Unity Conference – The Rights of Children
The Peace and Unity conference over the last three years has brought leaders from Scotland and afar together to acknowledge their responsibility, to influence change and to challenge atrocities happening around the world but also here in Scotland. Each year we have a different theme to discuss and in its fourth year, the conference theme this year is The Rights of Children and our goal is to help build a peaceful and united environment to allow children – our future – to flourish in a just society of acceptance, peace and unity.
For this to happen the rights of children must be put in place and adhered to. Children are subject to exploitation of many types including trafficking, detention, and radicalisation to name a few.
Peace & Unity Conference is an evening event with a diverse audience of 300 participated by leaders and members of the faith communities of Scotland. The audience will also benefit from the keynote speeches by the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP, the Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn MP and Bruce Adamson Commissioner for Children & Young People in Scotland.
